Our Urbandi MAX heavy-duty hidden bracket system is engineered for exceptional support. When properly installed, shelf capacity is up to 40 lbs per stud depending on shelf length, mounting configuration, and the number of wall studs available.
Using forged US Steel which is stronger and made from up 90% recycled steel, each Urbandi MAX shelf bracket is made in-house and can hold up to 40 lbs per stud or up to 120 lbs (based on three studs).

Find the studs in your wall using a stud finder, and lightly mark their location with a pencil. Stud installation is highly recommended for a secure fit.
Step 2:
Decide where you want to hang your shelf. Hold the mounting bracket against the wall, making sure it’s level. Mark the screw holes on the wall studs with a pencil.
Step 3:
Partially screw the mounting bracket into the wall using the provided screws. Check again that the bracket is level, then fully tighten the screws.
Step 4:
Align the holes on the back of the shelf with the bracket extensions, and slide the shelf into place.
CARE
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners to protect the finish. Hardware may loosen over time, periodically check that all connections are tight.

Are Urbandi products hand made?
Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.
We ordered 6 shelves total. It took a very long time to deliver, and 4 of them had marks on them and will need to be repainted. They are not easy to put on at all.
We love the look of the shelves. Once the room is complete we are excited to add some bottles. We did four shelves and three sizes and they all installed great.
The wall anchors are flimsy and broke a lot but luckily still could use the part that was already in the wall. Was somewhat hard to line up the 3 holes to the anchor at the end. Came a little dinged and scratched which was a bummer since we paid so much but just flipped it to the other side. Work well in the kitchen and look good up!
These just arrived and the finish work is terrible on this product especially at a premium price. We will see if the customer service team is willing to get it fixed.
Just opened my white floating shelves and due to the black styrofoam, it is stained. I say stained because I tried cleaning it and it will not come off.
The shelves look amazing and we have gotten many compliments. The very long shelves were heavy and somewhat difficult to install on our plaster walls, but our contractor did it for us easily
The finish was a little disappointing as well as the prep for the brackets. Per photo attached(also have numerous additional photos showing other issues with the finish and bracket prep, but can only attach one to this review), the stain is too transparent and wood color streaks show through the finish. The finish issues similar to what is shown in my photo indicate inadequate prep prior to finishing and in some cases handling damage before or after finishing. One of the shelves ordered is not prepped properly for the bracket and prohibits the bracket from fully going into the shelf and without additional drilling it will not sit tight to the wall due to the bracket prep at the factory.
I found the wood quality and staining/finishing work to be excellent. It looks like something a true craftsperson would produce.
A minor downside were the wall anchors that were included. They were very cheap plastic. While I managed to secure the bracket to a stud on one side, I still needed a wall anchor for the other, and I went to a hardware store to get one of proper quality.
Love the shelves the painted surface could be easier to clean one of the guys that put up the shelves had dirty hands and got the shelves dirty and for over $ 800 I have dirty shelves
Wayfair cannot compare! This handcrafted shelf has solid metal and wood components based on my specifications. I installed with my own metal drywall screws. I already got some compliments on my office!
Love the shelves. High quality, sturdy, and very easy to put up. The selection of sizes is great and allowed me to completely customize the look I was going for.
As you can see in the pictures provided the holes drilled are not in line so the floating shelf could not be mounted level on the wall. This is a very nice solid wood shelf and I’m hopeful the replacement has no flaws. If all is well with replacement I plan to order a mantle from them.
Called customer service Julia was easy to work with they provide a RA at there cost and are going to send me another shelf.
This shelf is exact what I was looking for to display this family clock without a lot of brackets. The shelf was easy to install, the directions and tips were very helpful.
I waited about over two months for my order to arrive. I called several times over those two months and was told it was shipping that day, then nothing arrived. After writing a bad review they shipped it right away.
I might give them another chance on our next project that will use floating shelves.
I have received only one piece. It should have been two pieces. Plus it took several weeks with no communication. Poor customer service. I will never buy from you guys again.
The new mounting system for these shelves are objectively so much worse than the previous ones and much less versatile. I will now no longer be purchasing additional shelves.
First, the finish on the white painted shelves is bad. The shelves feel like they were never sanded. The surface is rough, and the paint feels like primer. Second and more important your mounting hardware is horrible. Even the design of it is horrible. The mounting anchors you sent deform as you install them. I had three break off as I tried to screw them into the 1/4 hole as per instructions. A proper anchor for drywall should not even need a giant hole. I am tempted to send them back but I have 8 holes in my wall that match the mounting pattern for these shelve. Lastly each shelf needs 8 screws and anchors according to the directions. There are not enough fasteners to complete the job. So next I attempted to use the toggle bolts that were provided. That is next to impossible. The toggle bolts should have come with washers by the way to the bolts do not fall through the wall. The fact that you need to get all those fasteners now floating in 9/16 inch holes to line up with all of the notches and then get them secured while also trying to level the shelf is insane. I am not sure the person who designed this mounting bracket ever actually tried to install it. FYI I worked as a carpenter for a number of years and have a decent set of skills. I will be returning these shelves for a refund. Not worth the money based on the finish, and not worth the aggravation to try and install them.
Ordered the product two day delivery and they failed to send it expedited. Two separate orders both did not make it on time. Shelves are OK. Metal brackets are dirty, rusted sometimes, and make a mess on the walls as you're installing..
Leveling and shimming are challenging but doable if you know what you're doing. Not a DIY.
