Find the studs in your wall using a stud finder, and lightly mark their location with a pencil. Stud installation is highly recommended for a secure fit.
Step 2:
Decide where you want to hang your shelf. Hold the mounting bracket against the wall, making sure it’s level. Mark the screw holes on the wall studs with a pencil.
Step 3:
Partially screw the mounting bracket into the wall using the provided screws. Check again that the bracket is level, then fully tighten the screws.
Step 4:
Align the holes on the back of the shelf with the bracket extensions, and slide the shelf into place.
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners to protect the finish. Hardware may loosen over time, periodically check that all connections are tight.

“I was really impressed by the size and quality of this table. It feels solid, beautifully made, and knowing it’s handcrafted in America makes it even more special.”
Every Urbandi product is made in Cincinnati, Ohio by our team of skilled craftspeople.
Are Urbandi products hand made?
Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.
We absolutely love these shelves! They have completely transformed the kitchen wall over the blank wall into a gorgeous, modern focal point over the kitchen sink. The hidden bracket design is incredibly sturdy, and they sit perfectly flush against the drywall with zero sagging. The wood finish looks premium and feels heavy, not cheap or hollow at all. Installation took less than twenty minutes with a level and a power drill. If you are on the fence about buying these, just do it!
This is the second time I’ve purchased something from this outstanding shop (the first was an oak block side table). In both cases I’ve been so impressed with quality and craftsmanship. These are solid oak. Beautifully milled, manufactured and finished. If you’re not a skilled DIY’r I might recommend you hire someone on the install but for us (we’ve been hobby remodelers for decades) the install was easy and the mounting is SOLID. When I’m considering a nicely crafted piece of wood furniture, I will undoubtedly look to Urbandi first. Fabulous.
Very poorly designed with shotty craftsmanship.
Shelf refuses to sit flush to the wall on one side, while the other is fine. The shelf is designed such that you basically cannot use the end holes, which would allow the shelf to actually fit flush and would provide additional support. Overall, do not recommend.
You sent me the wrong brackets and I called your customer service to explain and your rep denied and gave me the run around. I haven’t even put any weight on them and they are sloping just as I’d said would happen to the girl who was terrible at customer service. She read a long pretend narrative that the brackets would work even though I’d already ordered and installed the same exact shelves with much larger brackets and called to ask for a replacement of the small and incorrect ones. I am Beyond sad and disappointed
Really could’ve been way to rectify your problem and yet you let a poor customer service rep lose you many customers. I will tell everyone I know how bad this was for no reason.
As many have said, the order takes longer than posted. Assume 30 days from ordering.
Shelves are great and the mounting bracket is fine as well. The larger shelves are challenging to get the support bracket and pre-drilled holes aligned.
Overall nice shelves and appreciate that they are real wood.
The shelves came with stains on them. Some sort of strain oil sample was included in the package and it stained the wood. We love the shelves and quality, but not sure what to do about the stain
These are Quality floating shelves we used ours for bedside tables. The finish is well done but I messed up when I ordered the finish. It was supposed to be white wash like the other ones I ordered, but I guess I clicked the finished only ones. It’s OK though it’s my mistake, but they are high-end products. You won’t be disappointed.
The shelves are exactly what we were looking for! They’re extremely well made, easy to install, and come in so many dimensions we found the perfect size.
The shelves are good quality and the color is very nice. However, the handyman noticed that the hole positions are inconsistent across the shelves, which makes the misalignment visible to the naked eye. Given that we paid $570 for three 24” shelves, I expected better precision.
The company offered to replace the entire unit, but we’ve already paid for the handyman to install the metal brackets on the wall. The issue is with the misaligned wooden shelf, so that is the only component that needs to be replaced.
Additionally, the original order was delayed in shipping, so the proposed solution is not practical for us.
These are such nice shelves. I initially bought one from West Elm, and just wasn’t pleased with the quality. And then purchased these and was blown away. They are solid oak and are so sturdy. Really high-end.
Such great craftsmanship! Quality shelves for the price paid. So happy with the outcome after never hearing about this company before. Happy other people reviewed
I am very disappointed 😞 the first shelf hung great. The second shelf is sagging down and won't sit level. It's like the shelf is tilting down. While the instructions were outdated, my husband has enough installation experience to finish. Just very disappointing after spending so much money on real wood shelves. I could have paid a fraction of the cost for Ikea and had them level. The color is the clear coated oak (which I picked and am at fault for) but it's really like a hardcore orange / 90's oak from my mother's dining room. I thought it would be more neutral colored but it's definitely oak.
They are even more beautiful than expected. Love the color it is perfect. These shelves are solid wood and have solid brackets and hardware included. They came packaged very well for delivery. Also arrived in the delivery window. So happy we ordered from here.
Shelf I ordered was 6’ in length by 10” width. Went with the lighter color oak. It is for a bar. Order went smooth. It did take about a month from when I ordered it to when I received it. Packaging was really good and the hardware was simplistic to install. I installed the metal mount and tiles around it. Urbandi customer service was really good. They were quick to reply with good advice. Beautiful product and good transaction all around. Great company.
The shelves are beautiful, solid and were easy to hang. So far everything I have ordered from Urbandi has been above expectation. I had a little delay on the order, but they were very good at communicating updates.
Very nice quality!!! However, the finish on the 24” white oak shelves are darker than the 42” white oak shelves.
Fortunately, they will not be side by side.
JM
