What you will get: White Oak Fire Place Mantel, installation bracket, screws, and anchors
To make the installation process effortless and quick, a customer will need: Tape measure, Stud finder, Pencil, Level, Drill.
Step 1: Locate studs using stud finder (stud installation is recommended).
Step 2: Using a drill bit, pre-drill holes through the mounting bracket and into the wall. If no studs were located in Step 1, you would need to install provided wall anchors. No wall anchors are needed if studs are present.
Step 3: Attach Part B (SUPPORT) to the wall using provided screws “Part C (SCREWS),” if preferred by the installer, other screws can be used. Make sure it is leveled.
Step 4: Place Part A (MANTEL) on the support. If preferred by the installer, the mantel can be screwed from the above or glued from the inside to the support.
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To protect finish, avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners. Hardware may loosen over time. Periodically check that all connections are tight.

Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.
Love the look and feel of the product. Two of the corners were damaged in the shipping process which I need to contact Urbandi about but overall very pleased with the quality of their product.
Disappointed in the staining that was done. As you can see from the attached pictures it looks like there was a “miss” or the incorrect stain applied in that area. Not what I expected.
Installation was a breeze with two people! We opted for the 70" x 6" hollow mantel; it’s impressively lightweight without sacrificing the look of solid wood. My best advice: double-check your measurements and secure it to wall studs for a perfect fit. While we love the end result, we would have appreciated more 'real-world' photos on the site to help distinguish between wood tones. We were a bit anxious about the color match, but it turned out to be a stunning addition to our home!
Awesome white oak mantle. Modern and clean and exactly what I needed to replace the old honey oak ornate original. I also lime washed my brick fireplace to complete the modern look and update my home. I am so in love! Excellent quality, easy installation, and I was even able to catch it on sale!! Perfect and far less expensive than other reclaimed wood sites
Nice quality wood, with fantastic miters on all seams. The only issues I had were 1) the inside/outside mounting boards had some play in them, and weren't totally level when the mantel was placed back on the mount; and 2) there were two stains that went pretty deep into that wood that wouldn't sand out. Had to leave some wiping stain on top (without wiping off) to cover them up). No big deal, easy adjustments, and very satisfied overall with the quality. Zero damage at all in shipping.
I ordered an unfinished white oak mantel, 60” / 6H x 8D from Urbandi. It arrived on time and was packed extremely well with the corners protected for shipping. My contractor installed it easily and it fits perfectly. But I am disappointed. On the white oak face is a big knot. I didn’t see knots on the Urbandi site photos. We had purchased white oak boards for the fireplace surround locally and there were no knots in any of those boards. I realize some people like knots but this was not my vision for my fireplace. I would have paid more for a clear face board but unfortunately I didn’t know I had to ask for this. The mantel craftsmanship is great and I would order from Urbandi again, making my expectations known in advance. In time I will get use to the white oak mantel with its knot and perhaps no longer even notice it. But for now I am still disappointed with the big knot in the mantel’s face board.
Absolutely love my new mantle! I was worried about replacing my old mantle and how difficult it would be to replace. My oak mantle arrived with clear and easy instructions. I had the old mantle down and new one up in no time.
I would definitely recommend, the quality and ease of installation was amazing.
Overall it looks great! Only gave it 4 stars because 2 of the corners were dented in some. I'm sure it was done during shipping but Urbana needs to reinforce the corners for shipping to remedy that.
This unfinished white oak mantel was exactly what we needed to finish up our fireplace! We finished it to match our floating shelves, and it's beautiful! Quality is great...no need to look elsewhere, this is the mantel you want!
The wood quality is good; however, the mantle was not packaged adequately for shipping. The first one arrived with a damaged corner. I returned it and received a replacement, but unfortunately that one arrived with damage to two corners. I am returning the replacement and have requested a refund, as I do not believe the current packaging sufficiently protects the corners during transit. In my opinion, the mantle cannot be shipped safely without improved corner protection.
We love it! White oak, unfinished, 66” and 8” thick. Julia from the customer service team was amazing and helped answer all of our questions! I would recommend Urbandi to anyone!

Took about a month to arrive as expected.
It is almost perfect. One corner was slightly damaged but once I sanded and finished it, you can hardly notice. Very pleased. Well constructed with solid wood.
Overall installation was easy enough. Quality wood. It was not packaged well enough for shipping. This corner was damaged and nearly every shelf I bought also requires fixing damaged corners or splinters.
Overall I am happy with the mantle, it is exactly what we were looking for. There are a couple issues with it but I still installed it and it’s fine. The first issue was with the French cleat not being straight, I had to rip it on the table saw because it was bowed about an 1/8th inch so it rocked up and down on the initial install. The second issue is there is visible end grain on one of the miter joints on the facing side, just makes it less seamless. I’m still giving it 4 stars because it does look good and is sturdy.
The hardest part was deciding on the size and finish! Ended up going with 60" x 6" x 8" unfinished White Oak mantel. I think we could have gone with the 8" high mantel, but my husband thought it would be too tall. Installation was a breeze.

Unfortunately the mantel came clearly damaged. The mantel arrived almost a month later than the estimated. Due to the holidays, I can understand why it was delayed.
We are currently working with customer service on receiving a different mantel that is not damaged. I have not yet heard from them since I sent in pictures of the mantel and packaging.
72 inch white oak mantel ordered for our 60 inch linear fireplace turned out great! I was expecting the color a little more raw but it is slightly shiny. Overall I’m very happy with our purchase.
