“I was really impressed by the size and quality of this table. It feels solid, beautifully made, and knowing it’s handcrafted in America makes it even more special.”
Every Urbandi product is made in Cincinnati, Ohio by our team of skilled craftspeople.
Are Urbandi products hand made?
Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.
I purchased these live edge shelves in June 2023. I wanted something special: beautiful and high-quality that would last for years and years to come.
But after just one year the shelves are splintering and there is visible wear on the edges. It looks awful and I actually have to watch out for splinters when I grab something off the shelf. Rather than offer to replace the shelves, Urbandi simply told me to sand them down and refinish them myself. This is a far cry from their claim that “a high-quality and long-lasting product is more important than ever.” So maybe these shelves will be good for your cheaply furnished air bnb but they are certainly not something that will stand the test of time. I’m deeply disappointed to have spent so much on shelves that don’t hold up.
These are beautiful shelves! Irregularities can be expected because of the raw edge but they are a bit more irregular than I was expecting. The ordered width is 10 inch and they vary 9.5 to 10.5 inches. I like the one with the knot so put it on the bottom. They are level. I can't stop looking at them- I love them!
Packaging and shipping were spot-on for the 78x12 live edge walnut shelf we turned into a bar. We ordered other brackets to go underneath and created a true bar level with the mere ledge our apartment offered as bar space. Now we can sit with knees underneath this beautiful piece of wood!
Added this small shelf to a cottage that we are renovating. It is well made, and very easy to install. And, who doesn’t love a live edge! Also, arrived promptly and was very well packaged.
The shelf looked nice when you looked down on it. However when it was hung on a wall the live edge just blended in /wasn’t visible. I ended up returning it.
I received the product quickly and I was very happy with the look and with the service of the company. All mounting hardware was included. I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of the product.
Ordered with expedited shipping. Order not “processed” for 3-4 business days. You communicated on timeframe from production to delivery. Then I contacted past those dates and informed production issue and have to remake. Given 10% back as apology. Finally delivered two shelves, considerable different thickness and only one set of brackets. Contacted sent photo new braces sent different from first. Second set the u hooks for attaching shelve silver not black like first received. What a mess! Will post review online. Very disappointed for over $300 spent on two laminated not solid live edge shelves. I’m sorry but your team couldn’t have f’d this up more.
As described. Really beautiful shelves. Gorgeous wood. The price is right, the product is right. You can get basically whatever size you want. I think they make to order so don't expect it in two days. The product is worth the wait. Very well made. If this is your aesthetic, this is the one you want to buy.
Great set of shelves! Hard to find things made in America anymore with the quality and a decent price. Only thing we didn't like on the install is the brackets were very dirty and we got black grime all over the wall and ourselves before we realized it. I used left over cabinet screws to add some strength as it didn't feel fully secure with only 4 for each shelf.
Did not ship with correct number of screws. Also, the drywall anchors would break after getting halfway into drywall resulting in leaving 1/4” holes I had to patch and get a better quality anchor in order to hang shelves. The shelves and brackets were great quality and beautiful. However the lack of attention to parts and the quality of the hardware will probably prevent me from ordering again. At this price, I should have received all parts and pieces and also had a good quality drywall anchor.
Store owner replied:
Dawn, we apologize for the inconvenience that our lack of oversight caused with your order. We've taken this feedback and will do our best to make sure this doesn't happen again. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention.
