Our Urbandi MAX heavy-duty hidden bracket system is engineered for exceptional support. When properly installed, shelf capacity is up to 40 lbs per stud depending on shelf length, mounting configuration, and the number of wall studs available.
Using forged US Steel which is stronger and made from up 90% recycled steel, each Urbandi MAX shelf bracket is made in-house and can hold up to 40 lbs per stud or up to 120 lbs (based on three studs).

Because we use only solid wood, any piece can be refinished at any point in time. If you change the look and colors of your space, you can sand and refinish solid wood with any finish to achieve a new look. Or you can simply paint them to achieve another look.

Find the studs in your wall using a stud finder, and lightly mark their location with a pencil. Stud installation is highly recommended for a secure fit.
Step 2:
Decide where you want to hang your shelf. Hold the mounting bracket against the wall, making sure it’s level. Mark the screw holes on the wall studs with a pencil.
Step 3:
Partially screw the mounting bracket into the wall using the provided screws. Check again that the bracket is level, then fully tighten the screws.
Step 4:
Align the holes on the back of the shelf with the bracket extensions, and slide the shelf into place.
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners to protect the finish. Hardware may loosen over time, periodically check that all connections are tight.

Are Urbandi products hand made?
Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.

This was my second walnut floating shelf purchase from Urbandi. I ordered this six foot shelf to display a special train that belonged to my Dad. It is the perfect shelf!

I got these walnut floating shelves for a kitchen remodel and they worked out perfectly. Urbandi’s youtube channel had helpful tips on getting the shelves level.
I'm glad that I stumbled upon Urbandi. They build high quality products at a very reasonable price. Everything is custom made to order, which is why they can offer any width or length you want. The custom sizing was important to me, as I had limited space to mount the shelves and wanted a specific depth and length. My order took about 2 weeks to build and deliver, which is pretty good for a custom-built product. We live in Alaska so we're used to being ripped off on freight from the lower 48, but we were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable freight charges from Urbandi. If you want cheap Rubberwood or pine shelves go to Amazon. But if you want solid American hardwood with strong steel mounting hardware look no further than Urbandi.
Two of three shelves came with big scratches and the third one had a small scratch. I’ve already been in contact with customer service, and I’m still waiting for their reply on replacements.

Shelves are a beautiful addition to our half bath. The are excellent quality and were very simple for my husband to install. This is our third purchase from Urbandi. We are very, very pleased.
Beautiful, high quality wood! In my opinion, the bracket could be improved. Sheppard Brackets have a “shift bracket” that allows for more lateral adjustment, rather than holes every inch. Also, the brackets for the two shelves that I received were not centered on the shelf, and were off-centered by different amounts, making installation slightly more challenging. Overall, very pleased with the product.
These shelves are beautiful and bring so much warmth to our space! They were relatively easy to hang even on our wavy wall and we’ve loved having them in for a few months.
We took out a corner cabinet and took our new backsplash up to the ceiling. I splurged on the Walnut shelves and I am so happy with the result. I’ll probably style them a little differently but was excited to add some decor to the kitchen as soon as we finished the install. We used one stud along with 7 TOGGLER Alligator AF8 Flanged Anchors on each shelf to install on ceramic tiles over 5/8” drywall. YouTube videos were very helpful to guide us through a smooth installation.
Didn't expect the shelf to be pieced together. Which results in dark/light color variation. But other than that, very nice shelves and good quality workmanship
A work in progress, but I’m totally impressed with the first 2 of the 3 shelves ordered. Quality of the substrate and finish is superb and the mounting bracket is fantastic - allowing for spacing between studs and extra mounting ports to assuage my fears. Will definitely be ordered another set for my kitchen remodel.
