Our Urbandi MAX heavy-duty hidden bracket system is engineered for exceptional support. When properly installed, shelf capacity is up to 40 lbs per stud depending on shelf length, mounting configuration, and the number of wall studs available.
Using forged US Steel which is stronger and made from up 90% recycled steel, each Urbandi MAX shelf bracket is made in-house and can hold up to 40 lbs per stud or up to 120 lbs (based on three studs).

Find the studs in your wall using a stud finder, and lightly mark their location with a pencil. Stud installation is highly recommended for a secure fit.
Step 2:
Decide where you want to hang your shelf. Hold the mounting bracket against the wall, making sure it’s level. Mark the screw holes on the wall studs with a pencil.
Step 3:
Partially screw the mounting bracket into the wall using the provided screws. Check again that the bracket is level, then fully tighten the screws.
Step 4:
Align the holes on the back of the shelf with the bracket extensions, and slide the shelf into place.
CARE
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners to protect the finish. Hardware may loosen over time, periodically check that all connections are tight.

Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.
Beautiful solid wood floating shelf. I got the 24” and added decorative brackets underneath which aren’t supporting any weight because the shelf itself has its own support. Easy install and exactly what I was looking for
Overall the shelves look good and are functional. However, for such a premium product I am disappointed in the quality. We bought 4 shelves and one was top notch. The others have big cracks in wood that are splintered on the surface too, flaking black marks in the wood, and poorly sanded/finished areas. I was expecting variation in the wood but this seems like poor board choice, craftsmanship, and quality assurance.
The shelves definitely achieve a nice rustic look and the bracket seems structurally secure to the wall.
The 48" Shelf looked great. The 12" Shelf is unusable. Has many marks on the wood. The quality just wasn't there.
I wish this was a better experience for me. Shipping took way longer than expected. Something about too many orders. This made a project that I was working on go really slow.
Beautiful shelves! I love how well the natural edge done.
The brackets were quite rusty and needed to be cleaned. The provided screws were just weak all-purpose construction (drywall) screws. I bought some better/stronger screws. One of the posts on the mount broke off when installing due to poor welds but there were plenty more to carry the load.
The fit and finish are great! The wood has alot of character, which is exactly what we wanted. The time it took to receive this shelf seemed pretty reasonable for something that is most likely made to order. The install is easy and is surprisingly robust. We will be buying more shelves from Urbani.
Shelves look great in the space! Installation was pretty straightforward with the correct tools— I was the helper, my husband put them up : ) Very happy with my purchase. Product quality and shipping were very good too.
Both my walnut shelves have cracks 8” minimum in length. And the finish of these shelves completed to the original ones I bought is night and day. Disappointed.
Also your web site says this product would ship in a week. We waited most 3 with no notice of it until it was delivered.
Super high quality product and we couldn’t be more pleased. I share pictures so potential customers can see the variations in “live edge” (which we consider beautiful.) Perhaps Urbandi could provide a smoother live edge if one desires. Installation: follow instructions to a T and you’ll have no issues. Be sure to use screws on the top and bottom edge of the bracket as instructions inform. The hollow wall anchors are insufficient for the size and weight of the shelves we ordered. I used toggle bolts for hollow wall areas in addition to the provided screws for studs. The provided hollow wall anchors did not enable the shelves to be level perpendicular to the wall when I could only utilise one stud for hanging. The walnut is beautifully crafted and made to last a lifetime. If I could rate this product 6 out of 5 stars, I would.
Overall I am very happy with the shelves that we ordered from Urbandi. However there is one corner of one of the shelves the was a bit jagged and I think it should have been sanded smooth. This is just a fairly small issue though. I really like how the brackets allow lateral adjustment so you can still hit a wall stud yet put the shelf where you want it on the wall. Great feature along with very pretty wood as well. The shelves were also packaged quite nice to minimize damage while being shipped. I highly recommend this company and would recommend them to anyone who’s in the market for shelving.
Hello. These shelves look really nice on my wall. They were a pain for me to install, however. One came with a chip that seemed to happen from traveling, they were both packaged well otherwise. I bought a 20 inches and 24 inches, and I was disappointed that the bracket for the 20 inches one was smaller than the spacing for the studs in the wall so I had to use two provided anchors to secure the shelf along with a screw in a stud. The larger shelf also had trouble sliding on because one of the holes for the bracket was damaged as well and slightly larger than it should be. In terms of installation, I wish the instructions came with more detail, such as which drill bit to use for the provided screws and anchors. Overall, the company is responsive and gave updates from ordering to arrival. Thank you.
Shelves Look Great! Good Weight and sturdy bracketing/ mounting system. Only negative was the actual length of the shelves were an inch or so smaller than advertised.
I cannot believe how beautiful theses shelves are! The live edge and the stain are just what I was hoping for. They are very substantial and add a beautiful touch to my kitchen. I am already planning to order some more for my dining room area. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. Easy to order, they kept me informed along the way and easy to understand installation instructions and process.
The shelves are outstanding and I really like how they look on my wall. The quality of the shelves and brackets is great. They are also easy to hang solo. My only complaint is in regards to the provided screws. I twisted the heads off multiple while driving into a stud. I cranked down the power on my drill, but that didn't help. I ended up tossing them and using a higher grade screw without further issues. Otherwise, 5 stars.
I ordered the 16x10 live edge walnut shelf for a projector to sit on and it works great. The shelf was super easy to install and looks beautiful. Would definitely recommend to friends/family, and will order from Urbandi again.
It took longer that expected to ship the shelf and when I received it I was dissappointed in the color. It's black walnut and the very front of the shelf is so light it appears to be maple. Also, the bracket to hang the shelf and included hardware are not great for weight of the shelf. It's solid walnut and very heavy.
Beautiful solid walnut shelves ! Was exactly what I wanted. High quality at a fair price. Had them professionally installed because I am not handy but it looked fairly easy if someone was handy.
Product was damaged on the front edge, they also sent it with a huge split on one of the sides. Not what someone would expect when paying 425$ for a single shelf.
I have had no response from the email I sent them last week.
I highly don’t recommend buying from this company.
Shelves were easy to install even though there weren't enough screws for the number of shelves. But was easy to find some. They fit in well with the live edge mantle and coffee and end tables we have.
