Installation & Care
What you will get: Mantel, installation bracket, screws, and anchors
To make the installation process effortless and quick, a customer will need: Tape measure, Stud finder, Pencil, Level, Drill.
Step 1: Locate studs using stud finder (stud installation is recommended).
Step 2: Using a drill bit, pre-drill holes through the mounting bracket and into the wall. If no studs were located in Step 1, you would need to install provided wall anchors. No wall anchors are needed if studs are present.
Step 3: Attach Part B (SUPPORT) to the wall using provided screws “Part C (SCREWS),” if preferred by the installer, other screws can be used. Make sure it is leveled.
Step 4: Place Part A (MANTEL) on the support. If preferred by the installer, the mantel can be screwed from the above or glued from the inside to the support.
For care, wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To protect finish, avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners. Hardware may loosen over time. Periodically check that all connections are tight.

Yes. Every Urbandi piece is made through a hands-on build-to-order process. We use modern tools for precision, but the majority of the work is guided by skilled craftspeople who select, cut, assemble, sand, finish, pack, and inspect each piece with care.
Are Urbandi products made from real wood?
Yes. Urbandi products are made from real solid wood, not MDF, particle board, or cheap veneer. Some pieces, such as certain fireplace mantels, use a hollow solid-wood construction to make installation easier and pricing more accessible while still maintaining real wood quality.
Can Urbandi products be used outside?
Most Urbandi products are designed for indoor use, where temperature and humidity are controlled. Outdoor pieces may be available as custom orders using materials and finishes suited for exterior conditions. Contact our team to discuss your project.
How much weight can Urbandi shelves hold?
Weight capacity depends on shelf size, depth, bracket type, and installation method. On average, floating shelves installed into wall studs with the included brackets can hold 25–55 pounds per stud. Longer or deeper shelves may need additional support brackets.
How do I care for real wood?
Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Wipe spills right away with a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, and silicone-based products. Keep real wood away from extreme heat, direct sunlight, and excessive humidity.
How do you choose your raw material suppliers?
We choose suppliers based on material quality, consistency, responsibility, and proximity. For hardwoods, we work with mills in Central Appalachia and trusted regional partners who provide strong, beautiful wood suited for long-lasting furniture and shelving.

Mantle along with new tile installed and I am thrilled, it’s beautiful and exactly like I imagined it to be. next up painting the entire downstairs and new window coverings. Will send more pics when room is all done
This mantle Iooks nothing like the photo. There are absolutely no marks of being rustic. But we had to wait so long due to orders being backed up we just put it up. I thought it would grow on me.

I'm in love with my mantel! The day after I made the purchase I got an email that it was going into production and 11 days later it was at my doorstep. I wish I could share the experience of hanging it but I hired someone to do it and since I didn't hear any complaints, I assume all went smoothly. The mantel was exactly as I pictured it and I always love it when I'm able to buy products made in the U.S.A. I highly recommend this company.

Mantle is being returned. Looked nothing like the advertised picture. The mantle we received was clear wood, no knots, in golden oak color, and the distressed look consisted of someone chipping out a few sections of the mantle.
The mantel arrived very quickly and is a perfect match to our floors. It was super easy to install and even came with a touch up kit (which we haven’t needed). The workmanship is great!!
I really wanted to love this. The color is significantly lighter than the photos online and it does not look distressed as advertised. Very much looks like a plank of wood you could get at Home Depot with a couple of man-made dents. There’s one small natural knot on one of the wood pieces. Other than that it looks like a standard sheet of wood. If I hadn’t already threw away the box, I would try to start the return process. Bummer.
We love our new mantle, even thoughI haven't had time yet to really spruce it up with a with a painting and some decoration to make it gorgeous. Our fireplace was an old red brick fireplace that was very drab and old. This mantle updated our whole living room. It's made very well with beautiful grain and beautiful finish. We were 100% satisfied with our purchase.
I was very excited for this to arrive so I could complete my new fireplace surround. Unfortunately, what arrived was no where near the quality I expected at this price point and for something hand made to boot. I'm surprised by all of the positive reviews on here unless I'm literally the only one who had all of these QC issues:
1) The color is WAY lighter than online. It's not due to a difference between online and in person. Its because this piece doesn't even appear to be stained. I know what aged oak stain looks like, and this ain't it. It has a matte finish on it but she got no stain.
2) this isn't a rustic finish. Save for 3 notches on the top edge that look like they were made with a machine because they are precisely the same size (except the one large notch that is obviously damage and not part of the look given how the wood is split there), and equidistant apart. Also, the edges are sharp and crisp and haven't been sanded to even try and give it an aged rustic look.
3) It wasnt even finished. What do I mean by this? Usually you will finish a piece and fill/cover your work. Here they couldnt have been bothered to fill in the holes from the Brad nails used to join the pine boards. They said it would take time to ship since each one is made by hand so why couldnt it even been finished?
What you get as a result of all of this is a sloppy piece that looks like what it is - a pine box - instead of a crafted piece of woodwork that looks like a rustic oak mantle piece.
I paid more for something that this company very proudly states is hand crafted and what I got was a C grade piece from a high school woodshop class.
Maybe this is a one off, we'll see what happens and how difficult it is to exchange for something that at least resembles what I ordered. If it can be made right, I'll update my review.
We wanted to move away from the dated, ornate look of the late 90s, and this white oak mantel from Urbandi was the perfect solution.
