Our rustic mantels are perfect for our customers that want their shelf to have a touch of character without having to commit to a fully distressed look.
This is a handcrafted hollow fireplace mantel. Our mantels are hand-made with love and passion. These mantels are as beautiful as they are useful, robust, light, and elegant. The rustic look is achieved by hand with attention to detail. As a result, no two beams are the same and your beam will be one-of-a-kind. Dimensions may vary slightly from selected, due to the nature of the wood and time effect on it.
We use pine boards for our rustic mantels. The final product might appear a bit lighter or darker because of the lighting and nature of the wood.

Installation
What you will get: Mantel, installation bracket, screws, and anchors
To make the installation process effortless and quick, a customer will need: Tape measure, Stud finder, Pencil, Level, & Drill.
Step 1: Locate studs using stud finder (stud installation is recommended).
Step 2: Using a drill bit, pre-drill holes through the mounting bracket and into the wall. If no studs were located in Step 1, you would need to install provided wall anchors. No wall anchors are needed if studs are present.
Step 3: Attach Part B (SUPPORT) to the wall using provided screws “Part C (SCREWS),” if preferred by the installer, other screws can be used. Make sure it is leveled.
Step 4: Place Part A (MANTEL) on the support. If preferred by the installer, the mantel can be screwed from the above or glued from the inside to the support.

Care
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. To protect finish, avoid the use of harsh chemicals and household cleaners. Hardware may loosen over time. Periodically check that all connections are tight.

What we bought: Rustic Mantel 66Lx6Hx6D in Jacobean. It's perfect. Our contractor installed it so I can't speak to the installation process but it didn't take them long to install so it seemed pretty easy.
It looks like one solid, high quality block of wood. Looks and feels more high quality than the mantels you can buy off of Wayfair. The ones from Wayfair very obviously look and feel like 4 pieces of planks glued together, and the seams are very obvious.
Mantels from Urbandi, however, look very seamless. They are hollow on the inside but you can't really tell because they do a really good job hiding the "seams."
Exchange Process: We initially bought Rustic Mantel 60Lx6Hx6D in Provincial but it was way too small and the color didn't compliment our floor all that well. It was still very pretty though on its own but we needed to return it.
The exchange process was a little iffy because our e-mails requesting a return label were going to their spam folder and we had to call twice, reach out via chat, and e-mail multiple times to get a resolution - but it was resolved nonetheless.

Ordered the Jacobean stain, which is lighter than in photos. It has two small unstained spots that I will try to cover.
The un-mitered corners look cheap (which the beam is), and it is clearly not a "real" beam (there is a sheen to it, and no palpable texture).
I like the softened edges, the knots, and the fact I could order an unusual size. Very easily installed.
The instructions do not specify how high above the heat source it should be, so keeping our fingers crossed.

I love my aged oak contemporary mantel! Urbandi was so patient with me as I struggled to find a mantel that I liked. I originally ordered the rustic aged oak but I wasn’t a fan of the way it looked. They responded immediately to my email explaining my disappointment in how it looked and sent me a new mantel quickly. Unfortunately I had the same issue with the 2nd one. I finally realized that I would probably wanted the contemporary design and they shipped me a 3rd mantel (aged oak, contemporary) that was perfect. This mantle turned out beautifully. I needed a larger size so got a custom order 96L 8x8. This is the Rustic in color Provincial. The corners and edges are very well done, the mantle was easy to hang with the included pieces, and shipment arrived when promised. I definitely recommend Urbandi!

It's not installed yet, but it's going to work well! We got a Provincial stain, and it's lovely. It shows just the right amount of wood grain, and blends with many of our other woods.
The reason I only gave it Four Stars is because the corners are not mitered, so the joints are obvious on the ends and are different stain depths.
It is very good for it's cost and our purpose.

This is a beautiful addition to our living room. It fits perfectly with our new decor. We are very pleased with the product. The only negatives, which are negligible, are that it was slightly warped and a nail head was visible where it was exposed during the sanding process (solved with a sharpie). The unlevel surface was mostly taken care of by screwing the mantel down as near to each end of the wall cleat as possible. I would definitely recommend this product.

Hello, I purchased a 48x6x8 jacobean mantle and love it. The mantle came as described and looks like the pictures on your website. I haven't yet installed it but i suspect I won't have any issues with the pre-installed french cleat.
If I was being picky, I did notice a few things which could be improved. I do a little woodworking myself and noticed that the finish is not quite smooth to the touch- I've found that sanding with a high grit sandpaper (220 or higher) before the final coat of finish makes the piece much smoother to feel than the mantel I received. I also noticed a few curly-cues from the sander - not a big deal and these are accentuated when the stain is applied - and my particular piece did have a piece of blue tape still on it which left some adhesive residue when I peeled it off. Again, not big issues and I'm a very happy customer. Many thanks!

The Mantel itself is nice however the cleat is ridiculously poor quality. Both pieces of the cleat are made of scrap wood and not straight. The cleat is only about 40 inches even though my mantel is 72 inches. I'm having to build a new cleat in order to hang the mantel.

Zero communication until I received a shipping confirmation nearly a month after I ordered. The mantel looks good and accomplishes what we were looking for.
However, the mounting bracket was completely off center and the piece of wood that is attached to the wall is completely warped. Had to go to Home Depot to get a new piece of wood to use. For the price I expect some quality control but there was none with this piece.

We love the mantel and the Jacobean color. We added an electrical outlet on the top side so we can plug in holiday lights, etc. We mounted the mantel on a 3/4" piece of trim to build it out from the wall because we didnt want the stone around it to take awsy from the surface area on the mantel top. We did away with the French cleat attachment because, after installation, it allowed too much play, wasn't snug, and this was a forever installation. We replaced the cleat with a 2x4 with support arms and counter sunk s few black screws in the top that are out of sight. It's rock solid now. We're very happy with it and recommend Urbandi shelves and mantels.

Beautiful product, HORRIBLE customer service. I had to reach out several times just to get an update on my order that was already late and constantly pushed back for a shipping date. The responses I received were unhelpful, uncompromising, and unsympathetic. When I place an order over a month before Christmas and I’m expecting it well before the holiday based on THEIR TIMELINE and it arrives on Christmas, that is not honest or acceptable customer care. Again, a beautiful product but not at all worth the trouble or the ruined Christmas holiday.

This seems nice enough and the color is right from the sample ordered. It took much longer to receive than promised although customer service was responsive. I suppose it isn’t five stars because it’s not even. Half of the top slants to the ground. We will have to do some finagling to make it work.

Loved the look but mantel arrived severely damaged. The customer service is the real rock star their response was quick and you could tell they care. I was provided a return label and told I will be receiving new mantel, I just hope company took me seriously when I asked them to bubble wrap it this time. Not sure if I would try reordering for the third time if it arrives damaged again. Our post office employees are really harsh on the packages.
