I ordered the samples and the aged oak color looked perfect. Unfortunately, the actual mantel that came was very splotchy on the front. The top and bottom looked great but the front did not. I am returning the old one, and they are sending a new one so will see how this one turns out. I understand that all wood looks different with stain, however this that out looked bad and should not have been shipped.

It’s darker on the middle than on the sides so the color is uneven. A clean, full color all throughout would have made it perfect. Very easy installation. Not very heavy but do hope it holds very well. A great addition to our wall, just wish it had the right coloring throughout.

The quality was excellent. It is a darker color than I expected. The picture is makes it appear lighter in color. However, the color matches the color of some of the bricks in my fireplace. So I'm satisfied with the mantel. I'm looking forward to staging it.

I wish they listed in the description how unfinished these contemporary mantels are. The surface is very rough to the touch and likely to cause splinters, the color is not like the one shown in the picture. Honestly I felt a bit misled and probably would not recommend this to a friend.

Great for the price, very light and pretty, but the wood inside to mount it was warped pretty heavily and had a crack so we had to cut our own mounting piece.

Really wanted to love the mantle and shelves we ordered but the color is just off! Pros-easy ordering, fast shipping, easy installation. Cons-Uneven staining, color appeared different in person, and lots of dark knots. I know the material is pine but for a “contemporary” mantle I thought they’d choose pieces of wood that didn’t have those dark knots on them. The color of pine pulled much more red tones than advertised pictures and it just doesn’t work with our hardwood flooring color. Customer service was fast to respond when I asked about returns but the return shipping was half the cost of the product itself. I’m stuck with the mantle and shelves, either have to sand and restain or do a paint wash. Order a sample color first and know that the pine material pulls a lot of yellow or red that may not be shown on their website. You can see in the photos I uploaded the mantle looks swirled with different colors due to the uneven absorption or nature of the wood.

I do not quite know how I found Urbandi, but I am so grateful it came up in my Google search! I had an image in my mind of what I wanted and was looking for a mantle exactly like this and had no idea where to find it. Urbandi popped up and there it was! I read about their company and was pleasantly pleased they are located in our neighboring state. We haven’t had the mantle installed yet, but I have a company that will clean our glass and install the mantle. I will also purchase some floating shelves to make a custom media center next to our fireplace. I cannot wait for it all to come together! We’re having the middle level of the house painted, so, when it’s done we will install everything. So grateful to have found this company! The workmanship, wood, and staining are exceptional. Im disappointed in my purchase. First , it took much longer to arrive than i have anticipated. Seconf , it had a hole in the mantel. I have reached out to customer service and they informed me to email . I emailed and let them know that there was damage to the mantel and I would like to exchange. There response was that they need pictures.They cannot help me without pictures. I then emailed letting them know that I had a timeframe and it didnt reach in my time frame to start with so the exchange will take even longer so i would like a refund. But i have heard no response from them . I am very dissapointed in the product ans the service.

It’s a beautiful wood mantel. It does have a rough finish but acceptably so. It was wobbly after mounting. It was suggested to screw in through the top which we did but it didn’t work, so we glued the mantle to its support with Gorilla construction adhesive and it’s very sturdy. Definitely updated the old brick fireplace.

Since the wall wasn't flat, installation created some challenges. Solution was to drill holes in mortar joints, insert epoxy coated 3/4" wood dowels for screw anchoring. Even our architect son gave his approval of your mantle. Looks great.

Product was nice in general but from the staining process the wood was ruff, not smooth and there were spots in the stain that was messed up. So I decided to finish sand it and apply another coat of stain to finish it out so that it looked more complete.

I’m very disappointed with the mantel. The staining in the wood is inconsistent and in places the wood is only partially stained. There are a lot of black knots in the wood. I’ll likely try to sand it down and restain it myself as I don’t have time to send it back. Overall it doesn’t look as advertised.
